Sunflowers For My Lovers Book Launch: Durban

The third leg of the Sunflowers For My Lovers book launch was held in Durban on National Poetry Day in March 2023. In collaboration with The Time of The Writer Festival and co-curated by Page Ngwenya at The BAT Centre.

Sunflowers For My Lovers Book Launch: Johannesburg

The second city of the Sunflowers For My Lovers book launch was held in Johannesburg in December 2022. In collaboration with The FAM, supported by Bruce Jack Wines and curated by Sweety Madlingozi.

Poetry Africa: An Act of Sustained Meditation: Online Book Launch

In this online book launch, we took part in an act of sustained poetic meditation. A conversation facilitated by Sindiswa Busuku in part 1 of Poetry Africa's online book launch of Sunflowers For My Lovers.

Poetry Africa: Satyagraha Revisited | Online Poetry Reading

Poets came together on the virtual stage and echo, respond to, engage with, interrogate and/or disrupt the framing theme of the 2022 Poetry Africa Festival:  Poetic (In)Justice: Voices That Breathe, Move and Transform.

Book Launch: Sunflowers For My Lovers Cape Town

The first launch of the debut self-published poetry collection, Sunflowers For My Lovers. Held at Youngblood Gallery in Cape Town in September 2022.

Open Book Festival

Following the Cape Town Poetry Retreat by Hear My Voice, they curated a show called Bodies Under Seige which highlighted and uplifted the voices of LGBTQ+ people and the war on women's bodies in South Africa. Performed at The Homecoming Center at the Open Book Festival in September 2022.

The Alma Cafe Live Performance

A live performance on womanist and gender-based violence poems based on a Masters thesis research by Jenah McKenzie at the University of the Western Cape.

SO Academy: Thinking in Poetry and Cardboard Exhibition

The Thinking in Cardboard mentorship programme was the production of a cardboard model and culminated in the creation of a short film inspired by my poem Blackburn, South Point Student Accommodation.

My Bleeding Thing

A poetry in performance showcase that premiered at The National Arts Festival The Fringe. This one-woman show explores the taboos of menstruation through the voices and perspectives of various womxn.

God Body:
a short film

Womxn is God. Unseen and unseemly in your eyes. Yet she is Supreme and Her body is Holy.
This collaboration between friends and colleagues has been shown at the Gauteng Film Commission Women in Film Online Festival and Behind Her Lens Visuals Online Film Festival in 2020.
